Dear Ministry Leader:
The Hope Christian Community Foundation’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce its ninth annual Christian Servant Leaders Award Banquet scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 11:45 am. Once again, the luncheon will be held at the Holiday Inn at the University of Memphis on Central.
Three “Servant Leaders” will be selected to receive awards. A grant of $5,000 will be given to the Christian Ministry nominating the winners. I have enclosed a nomination form along with the award descriptions and qualifications. I do hope that you will take time to nominate an outstanding volunteer(s) in your ministry who exemplifies Christ-like servant leadership. You may nominate more than one person to receive an award.
If our selection committee selects your nominee, you or your representative and the nominee must be present at the banquet. We will provide details in the weeks to come regarding the actual banquet program.
With so many “recognition” type banquets in Memphis, we believe it is appropriate to recognize Christ-like servant leaders in our community. This will also serve to spotlight some of the finest ministries in the country. Bottom line, of course, we want to bring glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I look forward to receiving nominations for this award from you in the near future. Nominations must be received at this office by September 30, 2008. All nominees must be volunteers and may not be family members of the executive director.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call.
By His Grace

2007 Servant Leader Award Winners
On November 6, 2007, Hope presented six Servant Leader Awards to individuals for their contributions as volunteers to Christian charitable organizations in the Mid-South. Three awards of $5,000 were made to the organizations which nominated their winning volunteer. In addition, awards of three scholarships of $2,000 were made to students who have been nominated for their service in the community. The qualifications used to evaluate the nominates included how they contributed to the organization, the impact the nominee has had on the ministry, and how they exemplified Christ-like servant leader qualities.
This year’s ministry award winners are Lisa Langley, Palmer Home for Children; Matthew Gandy, Eikon Ministries; and John Humphreys, Jacob’s Ladder Community Development Corporation. The scholarship winners are Delvin Tubbs, Streets Ministries; Brandon Privett, Crichton College; and Norma Lester, Neighborhood Christian Centers.
